ABOUT

This November, Starring Buffalo is teaming up with AnsariSaxon and SUNY Buffalo State Theater Department to bring Quiara Alegría Hudes’ and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights to Buffalo for three days only.

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

Leading the cast are Broadway’s Jacob Guzman (Hamilton, Buena Vista Social Club) and Mikaela Secada (Back To the Future, Blue Bloods). Joining them are a Buffalo ensemble including Melinda Capeles, Willa DeWhisp, Brianna Garcia, Alejandro Gómez, Diego Guzmán, Alexia Guzmán-Hayes, Jake Hayes, Jamil Kassem-Lopez, and Smirna Mercedes.
